Ugh, not again! You don’t have time to get sick. Do you wish you could wave a magic wand and get your health back quickly? Well, you can! It may not work 100% of the time but I have gotten my health back quickly on numerous occasions.
While eating my tasty, morning oatmeal, I suddenly felt really sick. My throat was scratchy and my chest felt like a deep hole of sickness. Was this an upper respiratory illness coming on?
Some illnesses are viral or bacterial, but many are unresolved life issues. Instead of facing your problems, you unconsciously make yourself ill. Now, you are focused on your health and continuing to avoid confronting your problems.
1. Notice and track any fear. Ask “What am I afraid of happening? or “What am I trying to avoid?”.
I felt so ill that I feared I’d be in bed for 2 – 3 days and would be too sick to keep a commitment. For 2-3 minutes, I sensed the fear in my system around becoming ill. Then, the belief popped up, “I can’t work if I’m ill”.
Yesterday, my feet were being held to the fire about showing up for a Transformational Leadership call. Truthfully, I have authority issues and I don’t like anyone telling me what to do!! Getting sick would be one way to get out of it.
2. Challenge any beliefs that arise.
Is it true that I can’t work if I’m ill? No, it isn’t true. My husband popped into my mind as he often works while he is under the weather. Right now I was in an unknown. I was going into future fear and I needed to stay present with the now and make choices from here.
3. Ask yourself “What do I need to do right now?”.
Crawling into bed crossed my mind. Instead, I bypassed lying down and chose to be proactive about clearing this unwanted energy out of my body.
4. Notice where you feel out of alignment or sick.
As I sat down and relaxed, I brought awareness to my throat and chest. I did not try to make myself feel better. I noticed what arose in my mind, tracking any emotions, thoughts and sensations.
5. Receive the information without doing anything about it.
In this quiet space, you will receive messages as long as you are open to the truth. Maybe you have work or relationship issues. It’s all energy and information and nothing needs to be done at this moment. Giving yourself the time and space to receive the information will begin to shift the energy.
6. Scan your field to come back into balance and alignment.
This is where the magic happens. Your awareness is your magic wand.
When I scan my field, my intention is to bring my awareness to my chakras (energy centers), not to prevent illness. When I paid attention to my 3rd rear chakra (behind your solar plexus, which contains one’s attitude toward one’s health), my physical body shifted. My right abdomen suddenly released and energy flowed once again through my system.
Organically I continued to shift my attention to each of my chakras both the front and rear aspects. My body continued to relax and unwind. I no longer felt ill. The sickly energy was gone. I felt well.
7. Put the pieces together. Receive your gift.
It was revealed that once again I was getting sick to avoid a commitment. As a former sufferer of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, I know poor health is a wonderfully valid excuse for avoiding tons of uncomfortable confrontations or situations. Since I’ve been focusing diligently on optimal health, I was now being tested to see if I was truly ready to give up my health crutch and step into empowerment.
The “AHA” is the gift. Once you receive the gift, make a new choice.
This entire exercise is not about alleviating illness, although it is lovely when it occurs. Feeling unwell is an opportunity to deeply explore where you are unable to show up as a fully empowered, authentic person. Underneath the illness lies a treasure of valuable information that will guide you toward solutions to your life imbalances.
When the gift is presented, only you can make the choice to live in a new way.
May you live in a new way. Peace.
